DEBAGRIP® PCR and its companion products are a new step in Ratioform’s success story

Ratioform Verpackungen GmbH, the Industrial & Packaging Division of the TAKKT Group, is a full-chain packaging solution specialist for the B2B sector, so it’s no surprise that the company has already been a customer of Anton Debatin GmbH for over thirty years. Like DEBATIN, Ratioform strives to find effective solutions, and with no fewer than 150,000 customers, it has an appropriately vast portfolio: from standard packaging to individual customised solutions and even integration of packing lines – in short, anything that exists in the packaging sector is on offer at Ratioform! We are particularly proud of being part of Ratioform’s endeavours to take a long-horizon perspective and create value for generations. Our contributions include our range of flat bags (DEBABAG® PCR) and grip-seal bags – in particular, DEBAGRIP® PCR.

Ratioform’s long-horizon perspective and our sustainability: a perfect pairing

First, a word about long horizons and creating value for generations: this goal goes hand-in-hand with DEBATIN’s sustainability ethos – or perhaps it’s the other way around, as Sylvia Meierhans, Product Manager at Ratioform GmbH, explains: “We believe strongly in products that will create value for generations; products that are produced in Europe, rather than in China or elsewhere in the world”.

DEBATIN’s multipurpose DEBAGRIP® PCR grip-seal bags are one of the many innovative products that we’ve developed with a focus on sustainability, and are made of 80 % sustainable, carbon-neutral post-consumer recycled film. “Our DEBAGRIP® PCR bags integrate perfectly into our customers’ sustainable supply chains, helping them meet their Scope 3 GHG emissions targets,” says DEBATIN CEO Thomas Rose, explaining that sustainability is one of DEBATIN’s core values.

DEBATIN & recycling: a never-ending story

You can read more about the match made in heaven in a (German) blog article on Ratioform’s own website, in which Thomas Rose talks about sustainability, recycling and the digital transformation in the packaging industry:

We’re happy to raise our hats to Ratioform, whose long-horizon perspective fits perfectly with our core objectives of packaging solutions, recycling and sustainability. The company explains its approach on its own webpage as follows: “Ratioform is taking the initiative for a liveable future: we support the ‘long-horizons’ initiative of our parent organisation Haniel. This initiative is about working actively for sustainability, social justice, and a future-oriented economic outlook: we all share the vision of creating value for future generations. The packaging sector is particularly important to this vision. However, there is still no customer-friendly guideline for sustainable packaging. That’s why Ratioform has taken the initiative and has created an easy-to-follow assessment tool for its customers.”

All kinds of environmental benefits have been packed into our bags!

DEBAGRIP® PCR integrates perfectly into this vision and the new assessment tool. These grip-seal bags can be returned to the recycling loop and thus help protect our planet: they are environmentally friendly, economically viable, and innovative. “We’ve paid special attention to packing all kinds of environmental benefits into these bags,” explains Thomas Rose: “The 50 µm tear-proof, transparent PCR film is perfect for recycling.” And if the sender of this eco-friendly packaging solution wants to take advantage of additional marketing space, DEBATIN will be happy to add customised branding to the DEBAGRIP® PCR on request.

“As a solution provider, we are always happy to advise our customers on how they can use our products, and on suitable dimensions, packaging combinations and special designs,” adds Rose. DEBATIN’s range of packaging options made from post-consumer recycled material also includes DEBAAIR® PCR , DEBAPOST® Second life and DEBABAG® PCR
